Big Brother Comes to Visit

Once Ethan was released from the Nursery (about 7 PM), it was time to meet his big brother Noah. Noah had been spending the day with Val (our childcare provider, neighbor, friend, and wife of Mike who is a fellow youth pastor at another large Mennonite church in the area). Val brought Noah up to the hospital to see mommy and meet Ethan.
Jodi was glad to see Noah after a long day away, and Noah was quite intrigued by this new little person that was supposedly the same "baby" that had been causing mommy's tummy to be so big. Noah enjoyed holding Ethan with mommy, and pointing out his nose, but after about a minute he announced he was "all done," and ready to go back to playing with his new toy that Jodi had bought for this occasion.

Undoubtedly this new little magnetic writing pad will provide much fun over the days and weeks to come. It was a hit on Sunday night, and he continues to say "mommy!" each time he sees it.

Noah was also very excited when he learned that Ethan had a hat, and was quite persistent that we put it on him.

While Noah was pretty excited for this day, I think mommy was even more so. Here she is holding her Mother's Day gift (she also got three white roses from each of her three boys).
Here is the whole family squeezed on the hospital bed for our first photo together. Hopefully there will be many more to come, and who knows....perhaps more members yet to join the crew.
