As Promised...More on "Broom Brooms"

I can't remember a time since Noah's birth that he has not like things with motors. Vacuum cleaners, the Mixer, Coffee grinder, etc... I credit this to my domestic abilities, especially while pregnant with him, but Jim would probably speak otherwise. ;) The fascination for anything that makes runs like a motor has really been amping up over the last several months but "PaPops" visit in January really set him off. We can not go through a day without multiple random requests for "broom broom" with a very sweet smile and eyes that say, "yes, I think this would be a great idea." Our floors our extra clean and I am all caught up on paper shredding around here because once you stop he will gesture "more" with hopes of the machine being turned back on. He also associate hearing my dad's voice or seeing his picture with "PaPop, Broom Broom" - like this is maybe his last name or something... As you'll see below he is quite the "helper" when my dad is working on projects. I wonder what this will translate to as Noah grows older....

One project my dad did while he was here was to put locks in my china cabinet so that curious toddlers could not have an open door policy with my china. So the other thing that is associated with "broom brooms" is key! Noah's favorite thing to do - if we would let him - would be to bring the cordless drill up to the china cabinet with the keys and play with the lock....obviously the doors of the cabinet would look less than desirable if he did this all the time, so he settles for putting the keys in the drill and watching the drill spin.

The obsession is to the point that for some relief we have bought him a set of toy power tools in hopes that this will appease him. Hopefully, he won't figure out that they aren't the real thing... Wish us luck!
