We left Sunday after church and made it to Columbus, OH that night - this left about 15 hours the next day to get to Hesston. We settled in for the night with full intentions of getting up and leaving by about 6:30 the next morning. When Jim went out to start loading the vehicle (in 4 degree, -15 degree windchill weather) he noticed that someone had broken out our passenger window and stolen our GPS (since we had the trailer we had to park away from our room and it was obviously a perfect opportunity for someone). We immediately started trying to find someone to fix it, knowing that we couldn't go anywhere with the temperature as it was and a broken window. The first several places we tried said we couldn't get in until at least the next day - we were getting quite nervous. We finally found someone who could do it that morning! We were thrilled. We ended up leaving only about 4 1/2 hours behind schedule which put us in Hesston around 1:30 am.
Noah was a great traveler - he slept a lot and when he was awake he was easily entertained in his car seat.
Thumper and Noah kicking back while mom and dad frantically try and fix problems - boy wouldn't be nice to be an infant again.... or a dog, especially our dog!
Thumper found the sun - she's got a special knack for that.
We were thankful for a safe trip and that whoever broke into our vehicle didn't take more - all of our luggage and Christmas gifts were right there for the taking. It could have been much worse!
